Up on the Housetop--Whittington version 2010

Up on the housetop the reindeer paws
Out jumps good old Santa Claus
Down through the chimney with lots of toys
All for the little ones Christmas joys

Ho Ho Ho who wouldn't go
Ho Ho Ho who wouldn't go
Up on the housetop click click click
Down through the chimney with good St Nick

First there's a stocking for Abby
Surprises are what she'd like to see
Santa knows what she would adore
a cash register for playing store

Ho Ho Ho who wouldn't go
Ho Ho Ho who wouldn't go
Up on the housetop click click click
Down through the chimney with good St Nick

Then comes the stocking for our Andrew
He's been pretty good--consider he's two!
Cars and trucks are what he'd like
maybe a shiny new red trike?

Ho Ho Ho who wouldn't go
Ho Ho Ho who wouldn't go
Up on the housetop click click click
Down through the chimney with good St Nick

There is the stocking for Daddy Rick
his own gifts he likes to pick
gift cards fill him with lots of cheer
or fill his sock with biking gear

Ho Ho Ho who wouldn't go
Ho Ho Ho who wouldn't go
Up on the housetop click click click
Down through the chimney with good St Nick

Mom's stocking hangs from its hook
she'd like money to buy a book
beads for her bracelet would be a treat
anything to make her smell real sweet

Ho Ho Ho who wouldn't go
Ho Ho Ho who wouldn't go
Up on the housetop click click click
Down through the chimney with good St Nick

THE game

On a cold and rainy September day
The Dukes went to Blacksburg, some football to play

Even JMU fans believed it would end
with orange and maroon securing the win

But the purple and gold put up a good fight
and overcame that great Hokie might

A house divided we were for a day
But now that it's over, I really must say

A diploma makes me a Duke for life
but I'm proud to be called.....a Hokie wife!

A Woman Who Reads

My friend Cindy sent this joke to me....I love it and had to share.....

One morning, the husband returns the boat to their lakeside cottage after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap.

Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out.

She motors out a short distance, anchors, puts her feet up, and begins to read her book.
The peace and solitude are magnificent.

Along comes a Fish and Game Warden in his boat.
He pulls up alongside the woman and says, ' Good morning , Ma'am. What are you doing?'

'Reading a book,' she replies, (thinking, 'Isn't that obvious?')

'You're in a Restricted Fishing Area,' he informs her.

'I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing. I'm reading.'

'Yes, but I see you have all the equipment.
For all I know you could start at any moment.
I'll have to take you in and write you up.'

'If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault,' says the woman.

'But I haven't even touched you,' says the Game Warden.

'That's true, but you have all the equipment..
For all I know you could start at any moment.'

'Have a nice day ma'am,' and he left.

MORAL:
Never argue with a woman who reads.
It's likely she can also think.

If you send a mom to the store for milk....

If you send a mom to the store for milk,
she'll decide to buy some cereal to go with it.
Getting the cereal will remind her that she's out of orange juice.
When grabbing the orange juice, she'll notice there's a great sale on toilet paper,
so she'll want to stock up.
Saving so much on toilet paper will make her think of the coupon she has for diapers.
In the diaper aisle, she will spot another mom and they'll chat about how school is going.
Talking about school will remind her she needs to buy fruit snacks for the lunchboxes.
Buying fruit snacks for the lunchboxes will make her think of her kids.
Thinking of her kids will make her realize that she needs to hurry to be at the bus stop on time.
When she meets the bus her kids will ask for a snack.
They'll decide they want cookies.
While eating the cookies, they will ask for a drink.
And chances are, if they ask for a drink,
Mom will head back to the store
for milk.

In honor of the Duggars....

I admit it. I watch the Duggars. They're a little "out there" but it is so nice to hear God talked about in a positive way on TV. They just announced that they are expecting their 19th child. Jim Bob asked for help with another J name. Since Rick and I have two A's, I started wondering if I could come up with 17 more. Here goes...

Abby, Andrew, Ava, Adam, Ashley, Austin, Audra, Aiden, Ann-Carey, Adrian, Annabeth, Alex, Alison, Avery, Alexis, Asher, Amy, Anthony, and Amanda.

Shew. I'm glad I don't have that in real life. But good for them!

How My Life Has Changed Since I Became A Mom

In honor of Mother's Day...

1. In order to take a bath, I must clear the tub of a jillion fish squirters, toy boats, and rubber ducks.
2. I keep fruit snacks and crayons in my purse, in case of an emergency.
3. Every time I clean I find at least two binkies.
4. My home decor is toys, toys, and more toys.
5. My favorite piece of Vera Bradley is my diaper bag.
6. Two c-section scars.
7. The top rack of the dishwasher has two kinds of cups: sippies and those plastic ones with Dora, Cinderella, and Nemo on them.
8. The best-received dinner I make is chicken bites with mac n' cheese.
9. Seeing Rick as a dad makes me love him 100 times more than I already did.
10. Lots more hugs, kisses, and cuddles!
