The Big Boy!
Andrew had his 9 month check up today. He weighs 22 lbs, 8 oz and is 28 1/2 inches long. He is in the 75th percentile for both! When Abby was 9 months, she weighed 20 lbs and was 27 3/4 inches long.

Flower Girl
This past July, Abby was a flower girl in Debra and Ricky's wedding. They were nice enough to lend me the cd of all of their professional pictures. The photographer got some great shots of Abby, so I thought I'd share....
Hippy had to come for moral support.
Getting ready.
I think this may be the best picture ever taken of Abby.

Down the aisle...she did such a good job!

Busy Weekend
It's been awhile since I have posted....
On Friday, we left in the early afternoon so we could be in Emporia in time for the ribbon cutting at Julie's (Rick's youngest sister) store, The Whimsy Tree. Check out http://www.emporianews.com/2-23-09.html to see the picture. We celebrated my dad's birthday with pizza and cake that night (his actual birthday is tomorrow). On Saturday we did some visiting with my grandparents. My grandfather is recovering from knee replacement and is doing very well. We ate dinner with Rick's parents then headed back to Richmond. On Sunday we went to church, I taught Sunday School and then went to a teacher's lunch/meeting after the worship service. Later that day we got to celebrate Whitt's first birthday!

Daytona 500
Congrats to Matt Kenseth on winning the Daytona 500! I was hoping Mark Martin would win, but good to see Matt in victory lane after going winless last year. Also good for Jack Roush to finally get a Daytona 500 win as a car owner (I didn't even know he'd never won it before!).
Now, here's my little man watching the race in his racecar outfit.

9 Months Old
It is hard to believe Andrew is 9 months old now! Although he is so big he definitely looks it! I'm sure he weigh over 20 pounds. We have moved him out of the carrier and into the "big boy" car seat...still facing backwards, of course. He likes riding in the stroller sitting up so he can see everything. He's been moved from the Bunnies to the Ducks in Sunday School, so now he's in Mommy's class.
Some pictures of the big boy:
Andrew loves to eat and is enjoying all fruits, sweet potatoes, and carrots. He could do without string beans and peas. We gave him strawberry banana for the first time last week and boy did he love that! He has also finally learned how to pick up a cheerio and get it in his mouth. He's quite a fan of those cheerios.
Balls are his favorite toys. He loves to chase them around. He also loves all toys that play music. He is crawling like crazy and can pull up. This is not good for Abby as her things are no longer safe on the coffee table. I think we have a TV junkie on our hands. He really likes Sesame Street, Super Why, and Baby Einstein, but he will watch anything.
Andrew loves to "talk". He says dadadada and daydayday. He also makes a lot of noises by rubbing his fingers on his lips. He is getting much better with the spit up, but he still does it some. Just now it is colored spit up and he crawls through it. Lovely. He is much happier overall but hits a wall about 5 or 6 pm and is unhappy until we get him in bed by 7!

for those less fortunate....
There have been some occasions when we are out shopping for items for the food pantry or a particular service project at church or preschool, and I've had to explain to Abby that not everyone is able to buy food or mittens or whatever so we buy some to help them out. She's always happy to help pick things out for these projects.
The other day she was working intently on some pictures while I was folding laundry. A few minutes later she handed me a stack and said, "Mom, some children aren't able to have art for their refridgerator. I made these pictures so that all the kids can have some for their Mom's to put on the fridge."
Precious.
